TAI JI QUAN

Tai Ji Quan is an 'internal’ martial art, combining exercise and mindfulness/meditation into a comprehensive health enhancement practice.

I describe it as 'moving meditation’ or 'meditation on movement’ (it's both!)

I practice and teach a 'long' form of taijiquan from the Dong(Tung) family tradition of the Yang style, taught to me by Tse-Yau Pang in the early 1990’s. Sometimes known as the “88” this form is traditionally subdivided into 3 sections. Each section is progressively longer and the 2nd section can itself be divided into two parts – the 2nd of which I refer to as the ‘kick section'.

In my 30+ years of teaching and practicing, I have modified any number of aspects. That said, mistakes are mine, and mine alone, and should not reflect on Mr. Pang.
